I wanted to check trics on my plant so i took off a small nug , it smelled so sweet and strong at first but i left it to dry and now it smells like grass after three days, if i tear the bud it still has that sweet smell,

MY QUESTION

will i lose a great smelling bud to a hay smell for every strong smelling cannabis whilst drying and then smell will eventually come back when i cure it?

Yes careful slow drying and proper curing will indeed bring out the aroma. At first when jarred it will smell like hay/grass, burping every day at first allows enough oxygen in to allow the cure. I find it improves over several months.

Thank you for replying. It's crazy how a strong smelling flower loses its smell to gain it again, i will be looking forward to see the results cure brings.

I'm dealing with the same thing my strain smells like fresh cut grass it was a smaller plant I dried it in a box hanging from a string and it only took 4 days for my stems to snap so I put it right in the jar. everyone tells me the smell comes with time. it's strange though isn't it
