May have over dried? How long in the jars so far? They are some fantastic thread on curing you should check out... Do yourself a favor a get some medium broveda 62% packs, will
Keep your bud at a perfect RH... Give it sometime in the jars, the flavor will hopefully come through... Would love to see some pics! What size pots did you use? Averaged about an ounce a plant? Great work! Looking forward to you starting up a journal for your next grow....

Im getting the Same Effects bro.,
I tend to harvest and cut the whole plant up...
I have been given advise to hang the whole Plant leaves and All for the First few days ...
Then trim for proper timing of rh ..
But 3-5 days is what i need here right now,.
The smell is from Early Jarring and the Moisture wasnt fully cured ,..i Just foud 2 grams Of frost dragon in a rown Paper bag ...shit smokes wonderful compared to the Jarred weed
Give it a rest for aFew weeks and Taste should comeback ,...

A good cure should take care of the "hay" flavor.

Buy a Caliber IV Hygrometer. It's a digital humidity meter small enough to fit inside a canning jar. I picked up two on eBay for $19 each (free shipping). Boveda packs are good to stablize humidity. But, a meter will tell you if you're even close to where you should be. I.e., if you need to spend another day or two in a brown paper bag.

There's some good information to be had here and we can't offer much more help until you're able to answer the questions yoda asked. I will say that when I experienced taste/smell effects similar to this it was because my RH was causing the bud to dry TOO fast. What I started to do was put the bud in a brown paper bag, roll the top down to seal it and leave it in a dark warm room for 4 days (the room itself should have good air exchange but leave the bag closed for four days minimum if the low RH is the issue).

Once you open the bags, feel the bud see how dry it is, go right to the jar for at least 12 hours. It'll be a more "earthy" smell with hints of the actual bud smell coming through in just under a day in my experience. The taste will be true to the strain though and not a grassy type taste.

Good luck and keep us posted!
