HBSS flowering yellow tips curling up

I did a good flush for 20 mins about 2 days ago and my run off ph has dropped again! It's goin in at 6.2 and coming out 4.6 BUT I found this big block of salt in one of the holes in my airpots so I'm thinking my 20 min flush in bath wasn't sufficient should I flush again for like 45min? I'm just asking as I've already flushed twice within 5 days!

Hmmmmm I don't ever remember seein big chucks of salt like that when I was in dirt, but I guess it could happen. I think you should be fine though

Just came across this thread. You know I've always wondered if air pots wouldn't get salt build-up right at the air holes. Anyway, that probably isn't your issue. I think I saw that you had falling pH and falling total dissolved solids in your runoff. Now I personally don't bother measuring runoff, but one reason your pH could be falling so dramatically is your plant simply has much higher Cal Mag requirements than what you're giving it. When you talk about ending up with a pH Down in the mid fours that's the absolute lowest that a plant can uptake the Cal Mag.

Seeing as how you flushed multiple times and reduced your feed and double check your meters Etc. Why not just double your Cal Mag next feeding? And see how it goes? And of course always get really good run off.

I will try that next feed so far I have been giving 1.5ml/gallon of canna calmag so il shoot in 3ml
I've also gave her a good long flush yesterday and a light feed of 300ppm so far runoff is showing ph 6.2 ec 100ppm
I don't think il be using the airpots my second time as I really don't like to see the salt build up in the holes it's hard to get out and water the edges without it coming out of the first hole it finds! Also the roots grow towards the holes and that's where salt gathers the most from what I can see after that Boulder I pulled out so surely that can't be healthy too maybe smart pots next go
