Hello All,

This is technically my second grow. I'm growing some Auto White Widow from Vision Seeds.

Growing in Fox Farms Ocean Forrest about 2 gal pots. 10x 23w CFL (230 watts).
Today is day 24.
I've been giving doses of Fox Farms Big Bloom since day 14. Started with quarter strength, moved up one tblspoon with every watering. Last watering was yesterday with 3/4 strength. The plants are looking really good so far.

However, I've noticed some weird splotches on some of my leaves. I have no idea what they are.
PH is 6.5-7. Watering is with tap water that has been set out in the open for 2 days to help de-clorinate it. The overall plant health looks great. These splotches have been around for about 10 days, but I thought I might have splashed some BB water on them. However, it's coming out on some new leaves now.

Any ideas?

Thanks bud I really appreciate the input and advice!

And this is just on one of the plants currently BTW. I'm growing two but one is behind by a few days and is not showing a sign of this, at least not yet.

That pH of 7.6 - 7, is that the pH of your feeds or of your run off? FFOF is known to have low pH right out of the bag and we see these issues all the time. The low pH causes the nutrients to become locked out and unavailable to the plant. If you haven't already check your run off pH, please do so and let us know what it's reading.

Hey thanks for the reply! I'm currently not able to check run off, I have a digital soil probe tester that I am using to get my PH measurements. And they come in between 6.5 and 7. Unfortunately this PH meter that I have only measures to the nearest half. So it could be anywhere between 6.5-7 but I'm not sure what it's exact measurement is. In the future I'd like to get a new (better) meter, but presently don't have extra funds to get a new one. This one is all I have to work with.

I am getting a little amount of red coloration as faded mentioned above (nothing major yet but I do see it starting), so I'm going to introduce TigerBloom next watering (around day 27) with 1/2 tsp and a full dosage of BB (4 tblspoon) to help aid in available phosphorus. I'll also be slowly working up the TB dosage with each watering afterwards.

Unfortunately those inexpensive soil probes are notoriously inaccurate and not to be trusted. If anything, I would expect to see a low, rather than a high, pH reading with FFOF. Red stems can be genetic but can also indicate a lack of phosphorus. Whether that lack of phosphorus is being caused by not enough or by a nutrient lockout is hard to say without accurate pH readings. If it is lockout, then feeding more nutrients won't help and in fact, could hurt the plant.

My last full grow did develop very low soil PH about 35 days in. At that time, my meter showed them at 5.5 PH. So although it may not be accurate, it at least alerted me to low PH. I have some PH up but the last time I used it I think I used too much at a time and stressed my plants too much, because they hermied on me. Still harvested and smoked, but I'm hesitant to use it unless I absolutely need too. The bottle gives a recommended amount at 25 gallons (its for fish tanks), so it's really hard to get a precisely accurate amount.

Also, I do have PH test strips (old school) but I'm not sure how the BB and TB does or will affect the reading they provide. I haven't used them for this reason.

I really like this forum. You guys are super knowledgeable and helpful, and it's dedicated to auto flowers so that's a plus!

Also, can I get a good reliable PH meter for under $50? Any recommendations for when I have some funds to get one?
