Heat stress, Mag Def, or just reaching for the sun?

The last two or three weeks, i've been growing an auto under some cfls before I put it outside. More or less every day the plant looked very happy and was reaching for the light, until today. I decided i'd put it outside in a some what shady area to start hardening it off to begin its new adventure outside. After six hours and the sun started to set, I brought it back inside.

At first I just assumed the plant was a little too happy and got more direct sunlight than what it should have. But now after its cooled off some, it seems like the tips of certain leaves are sort of drooping inwards. The edges of these leaves are starting to turn yellowish, but its faint. The tips are also very flimsy, they don't feel as firm as the rest of the plant. When it first came inside the leaves were practically vertical, almost as if the plant was closing.

The temperature today was up to 94°f, and will continue to be in the mid to high 90s the next few days. My other autos and photos that were started outside are thriving and as happy as can be, but i'm worried about this one. I've put it back under the cfls at a distance for the time being.

Any idea whats going on here? Thanks in advance :D

She's looking worse, the leaves that are beginning to yellow are sort of crispy feeling. I'm starting to think this is nute burn because it looks like its starting on the lower leaves and working its way up. I haven't began feeding it anything, but I do know my soil was pre-nuted, but I spent several hours removing all of the tiny balls in it. Nothing has changed except putting the plant outside and watering it a little more than usual.

maybe its not getting enough airflow around.how far down in the pot is it? I know what u mean by flimsy tips though.its almost like there no water getting to the ends of the leaves.i had a plant do that once but don't member what caused it.hope someone can help u.good luck

Do you Ph your water ? Had the prop once when i forgot to adjust the ph of the water i gave them.

Hi Half'- this girl got roasted, plain and simple,... the transition from CFL to sunlight should be gradual, with filtered sun (like through a couple layers of window screen material) for a few days at least in moderate weather,... but combined with the heat, (low RH too?), and the lack of protection, the leaves got torched, sad to say.... notice, the tissue is still green, but dried? Nute burn will show yellowed to brown patches and tips,... Plants seem to handle things without much sign of stress, up to a point,... then beyond that, just a little too much and they lose the battle and star getting damaged quickly,... Good news is, the newer growth looks okay, so she should survive! ....give her a few days inside, to recover... some B1/superthrive will help recover from shock....

Faded, the spot I had it in has plenty of airflow without a doubt, its only a couple of inches down in the pot. I've had plants get blown over in the same spot lol. Yeah, they're pretty flimsy, almost like they are not there.

Medic, I do PH my water. Everything's right where it should be, I think I was just eating shit and let them get toasted.

Waira, thank you. That's what I was leaning towards. When I first brought her inside I should of took a picture, i've never seen leaves point that straight ever lol. Don't know what I was thinking putting it where I put it, I've started seedlings fresh from breaking the dirt there for a while and they've always done fine. Didn't take into account the need to harden off, guess I was a little too stoned lol.

I don't have very much experience with auto flowers, but do you think she'll be severely stunted? She looks awful right now. Should I bother giving feeding her for the first time? Or wait till later?

Thanks everyone for the input, hopefully she recovers and grows like hell the next couple of weeks

Things have taken a turn for what seems to be the worst.. Nearly every leaf has drooped over, leaves that weren't previously discolored are now discolored, and the new growth is turning the same pale color as well.

Is this the end or can it some how bounce back?

What kind of soil are you using? Ones with slow release nutrients have been known to cause issues like this. Also, do you know the pH of the soil? If it's way off that could also be a contributing factor.

I'm using about 1/3rd Miracle Gro Moisture Control, 1/3rd Mushroom Compost (Cow Manure) and 1/3rd Perlite. It's a recipe my uncle who's been growing for ages uses, and passed down to me. Those are all the readily available things around my tiny town of 900 people. I did remove all of the yellow "nute" balls inside of the soil though, and my various other photos/autos haven't had any problems with nute burn or anything like that.

It seems like theirs some improvements on her, the red ovals are where the growth has begin to come back up instead of drooping so much, so maybe she'll be alright. I'm not sure if 20/4 light cycle is too strong for her right now or not, cause I've been able to see noticeable improvements once the lights go out for a couple of hours. A lot of her still seems very wilted and frail, even some of the baby leaves coming out from lower on down the branch seem to have a palish color on some of their ends.

Hopefully she'll be alright.

Miracle grow is great for house plants, but shyte for weed. Time release ferts can work, but at what ratios and when?? I'll tell ya when, when you dont need them too!!! Some people can make miracle grow work, but there is stuff in there that will eventually kill you, bt if that is all you can get, make due. Like Muddy asked, check your soil PH. That is THE most likely culprit when things start going south. What is your PH water going in??? and check your runoff and let us know.
