How ya doing?

I am just getting started. I have a balcony for outdoors and a 3x3x5 closet space.
Trying to figure out lights for the closet as I plan this.

Hope I learn a lot here.

Thanks...SHRED

Figure on 30 to 40 watts per square foot with led's. Which raises the next question . What kinda lighting you going with ???:tiphat:

I had thought of using the closet as a starter closet (for outside grow) but I am entertaining the idea of making it a grow room also. I was going to get a SunBlaze 28 T5 system for starting but now LED is getting me excited.

Also, I've read it's a no no to transplant Autos?

thanks

Lots of people transplant them but they are very sensitive to transplants. If you're not very careful with the rootball you will stunt the plant.

Hey SHRED,

glad you found us and did an intro. I am a closet grower and I would suggest LED as the way forward if your budget can stretch to it. Apart from the low running costs, the heat output from an LED is very low. Ideal for a closet.

Welcome pal, eP.

Welcome SHRED! I would take 2 solo cups and cut the bottom off it and place it in the cup with a bottom. Grow it out for a few weeks and then take the bottom cup off and put it in a bigger pot, cup and all. Its called the tiered method! Works wonders, but going straight to final container works too.

Hey and Welcome!
I'm glad you found the place, you will be too!! Plenty of information and friendly folks that know a little bit about this stuff. Let us know what you decide and start a journal of your journey.
Peace and happy growing.
