Hello AFN. Relatively new to this forum and to growing autoflowers. I'm in my 4th week of growth with 2 plants. One AK and one Cheese. Up until now my success has been great. Plants have been growing quickly and the AK has begun to flower.

For the last 4 days or so my Cheese plant has seen little to no growth or change. The upper leaves are curled up and drooping. I've ruled out the lighting, since the AK is taller and not having any issues. I'm wondering if the droop is signifying bound roots but I'm not experienced enough to be sure.

As for nutrients, I've been using them sparingly. I'm trying to stay as organic as possible.

I'd appreciate your input.

Looks hungry to me, maybe even a little dry. Your lower leaves are starting to yellow indicating lack of Nitrogen. I'm not very good at plant diagnostics but that's what I see. The upper leaves look like they have a little twist in them which I take as hungry... Hope I helped... Maybe @jingo or @Waira can help you better

I just watered last night, so definitely not dry. I'll try bumping up the nitrogen a little on the next watering. Appreciate your input.

What size pot and what kind of medium are you running

Pot size is unknown...not big, that I know for sure. Maybe 1 gallon. I was unaware of the needs of autoflowers. As for medium, like a typical nube I used average department store potting soil mixed with equal parts compost and peat moss.

Well I think stepside had it correct thirsty and hungry. However, you have likely depleted all nutrients in your medium and have some lockout going on that makes the plant look dry. A condition where your medium is pulling moisture at about the same rate as your plant. Fighting your plants uptake of both water and nutrients.

It sounds like your best bet would be to treat this medium as if it were pro mix. Meaning you need to pH your inputs and get run off. I think @stepside is a pro mix guy?

So I'd say get 30℅ run off for about the next 3-4 waters, then drop down to about 15-20℅ for the rest of your grow. Get with a pro mix guy on the nutrients and pH.

You should be okay then

Appreciate the advice. Especially the run off because I always let the plant pull it back up. I'll add some nutrients and let the run off drain out from now on.

:toke: Canaduh, I'm moving this to the Infirmary, best place for such issues!

This droopy posture is usually from either over or under watering; was there a dry-out to the point of drooping, or consistent heavy watering? Roots get damaged in either case, causing them to slow uptake of water and nutes until roots regenerate and recover,... As for the nute's, which organic line are you using, dosage and frequency? She does look pale overall,... what lights and distance are you running? I see some color on the newest growth, sometime normal, but can be indicative of overly strong light,... Also, soil pH is always something to consider! It must be managed, organic nutes or not contrary to popular misconception,... do you have a pH meter (for liquids)? I recommend getting a soil pH probe like the Accurate 8.... Good news is, she' not showing any spotting or dead patches, just the pale color,.. pot size likely isn't a factor here, other than limiting her size some; root cramping has to become pretty severe to cause issues, and this plant isn't near the edge of that IMO,... get me the info here, and we'll see what the next step should be,...
