hi im new to growing in coco and am trying some auto marias #2

I have never grown in coco,

I have only grown in multi purpose compost and it wasn't until my last grow that I used some canna nutrients other wise it was just miracle grow for nutrients.

I have never used ph testers.

now baring this in mind I have had some pretty epic results despite using miracle grow and multi purpsose compost.

now im reading that coco is hydro ponic and that I must check ph level, I gotta feed nutrients daily etc etc....its a bit overwhelming tbh and I feel I may have made a bad choice ...I no if I can get me head round it im sure ill get better results than mg/multi purpose compost

ive looked at the feed schedule that comes with some of the canna products I have bought I don't understand the coco a and b

is part A just for veg and part B just for flower or do you use them together?

is there a step by step guide anywhere that is good for beginners using coco?

what differences a, I going to encounter compared with multi purpose?

my mate says all I need to do is add some nutrients and hand feed daily, he reckons he had no ph tester etc. he reckons its easy

confused.....

You need to feed the A and B together in both veg and flower for most 2 part nutrient lines. I would google your specific nutrients along with "feeding schedule" and you should get a chart that tells you how much to feed. Most people say to start with 1/8th or 1/4 strength of what the manufacturer reccomends and work up from there, as it is much easier to add nutes versus take them away after your plants have been burned. Hope this helps and sending good grow karma your way

Head on over to the coco section and take a look at the stickies. Theres plenty of info for you to wrap your head around. Honestly if you want to grow great bud you should consider buying a PH meter.

I been growing in cocoa fro 3 years now and I love the stuff. I don't amend or anything and after each grow I pull as much root as possible out when its kinda dry and flush with plenty of water to get remaining nutes out and reuse. I use coco a and b, some liqid bat and bird guano with kelp and other stuff in it, a little cal/mag and no ph meter at all. never have had any major issues of late except for a mite and whitefly issue that my cat brought in. like TRUU said, LOTS of info here and you should post your first grow that way ppl can follow along and help ya out when you do get into trouble. I use nutes at like 10% strength when little, for about 2-3 weeks then ramp up to 50% of what they recommend cause I do water every day.
