New Alaskan here we have medical MJ and now voting on recreational this November (fingers crossed)

I have seeds from Herbies and a 400 watt LED from Apollo(Low_Baller) I am not sure if that will be enough to flower with ? its only 13" so not real sure how that's going to cover a few plants, also is it really 400 watts?

Would like to hear from Any one that would know what auto strains might do good in the great white north outside grow that would be nice to save on the light bill

This is my first auto grow and plan on going completely organic done some photos before so not completely lost any advice would be appreciated.

Great site thanks!

Welcome!

If it's the 400W Mars II with 5W Chips, it's around 198W, They under drive them for longevity.

Depends on what you mean by a few....if you mean 3 or 4...maybe, if you mean 6...probably not. But it is a fair amount of light.

Better than the 135W UFO (90W Actual) that I used to grow my first plant and a half...:)

I'll let others more seasoned advise on the strains, but Alaska has everything from sea-level to what? 14'ers? 15'ers?
So elevation will play a role in the answer.

RE: Light bill...that's the thing about LED...you already just saved yourself 60% or better. Outdoor, in AK, seems like it would pose a problem.
But I don't know...that may be anecdotal....

Good Luck!

Thanks for the welcome and response to my questions.

The light is not a mars but says its a" Apollo full spectrum 400 watt LED grow light"
hope it will do my three plants to start I will get another if needed hopefully we will be able to grow six plants.

And yes I believe these LED's are the future if they work good no more hot expensive to run lights.

Welcome to AFN, AKN!:tiphat:
Planning a grow can be as exciting as starting one (sooo many choices!).
Be sure to check out the various forums we have to narrow down your choices. Seed Forum, smoke reports, organics and lighting, outdoor/greenhouse, we've got it all.
Give a shout if you need a hand finding your way around, and enjoy your dive into the deep end of the knowledge pool!
:peace:

Welcome to the friendliest and most helpful autoflowering forums. Im feeling pretty confident that you guys will end up legalizing it on this round. Specially with all the buzz over Colorado..and not so much Washington......:dunno: Hopefully you guys do it better than Washington man. Though, I feel confident that Washington will improve over the next year or 2.

Dont forget to make a journal when you pop those things. :vibes:

Thanks for the welcome guys I will be reading a lot and hoping this vote goes through.

AKn, welcome to the home of Auto's. Keep posting and be one of the guys. I have a good feeling about ya.

Enjoy, eP.
