Hello AFN Honeybear here with my 1st auto grow! Was gifted these Gems and Betty's from a very good friend who i can not thank enough. This person is the only reason I am where i am with my grow, a huge inspiration and a kind soul. Thank you! With that being said im very excited to get this journal under way. Like i said this is my first auto run but not my first grow have a couple photo runs under my belt but have been extremely excited to try these new genetics. I am running dual 400 watt hps lamps in a medium sized closet. The closet is wrapped in panda paper and i have mounted the ballast high above the lights in the upper corner of the closet. I rigged up a pretty decent ventilation system to keep my temps right where they need to be. So far all 5 of my Gems have started to take right off, straight out of germination these "girls" were roaring. My Betty's have seem to taken a litter longer and have only had 2 break soil since germination and planting. Keeping my fingers crossed on those. I am using a mix of Raw Organics soil and ProMix. I am feeding only with PH water and a little root General Organics bio root for now. Sorry for the pics taken with my Iphone gonna charge up the dsl and take some nice shots soon. Would love any and all input on this grow as it is my first run with the autos and always open to comments both positive and constructive. Thanks for taking a look. :smoke:
p.s.
The little tree in there is our Jade tree been keeping it in there so that it gets the sunlight it needs. Ever since we put it in there it has taken right off!

FAK Mein!! I want purple gems!!! EVERYBODY OOS!! But welcome to AFN! Great people great place. Lots-o-Lots of knowledge here!! Many a great mods!! Look for Muddy if you need advice.

Thanks Alley when i was given this dna i was told how lucky i was because of there high demand, so i feel very privileged to get my try at them.

Your awfully lucky there.. wish I could get my hands on some of those haha good luck!!

Question for anyone out there who has ran these strains, my goal was to plant these right in there final pots to avoid a transplant and the stress associated with that process. I am using mostly 3 gallon root bags along with 1 plastic 3 gallon pot and finally 1 5 gallon root bag. I'm confident the 5 gallon bag will be plenty, but I'm a little concerned that the 3 gallon pots will not be adequate for the final plant. If any one has any insight to this i would greatly appreciate the input. This being my first auto run i don't know what to expect size wise. Thanks everyone and happy gardening!

3 gal pots are plenty for autos  I'm smoking on some jem right now man it's super dank :smokebuds:

Planting directly into the finishing pot is a great idea! The transplanting tents to slow down and stunt autos. Jems and betties are Dwarf autos so three gallons is more than plenty.

Thanks for the quick response glad to hear that they will be good to go from here. On some bad news...most of my bettys have still not popped from the dirt :crying:very very very upset about this, i had great germination on all ten of these beans and thought for sure that all would take right off. Fortunately all 5 of the jems are huge and thriving but only 1 betty remains and even that one is a very very weak plant. Ive been very consistent with my handling of all ten of these so ive been brainstorming what could of been the determining factor for them not surviving. Ill be posting pics of these from the dsl hopefully tonight. On to the good news, i have 5 more beans waiting in the shadows!!!! however i can not reveal there identity yet until i get the clearance from the person that gifted them to me but in very very excited about this strain as well. Ill be dropping all 5 of them to fill in for the loss of the bettys RIP

Too bad about the bettys, I have heard the can provide a little "extra" motivation in the sack!
