New Grower how are you doing it?!

OK so I am having a terrible time going from sprouted bean to sprouted seedling. I do the paper towel method, and when I see the small tap root pop out I plant on the ground.
I use a mix of moss, humus, earth, bat guano and a tea of algae and amino acids.
I plant out side, my daytime temps go up to 35C and at nite they go down to 12C.
RH is at 50% 60 %.
The problem is my sprouted beans don't turn into sprouted plants....out of 10 beans I have 2 plants!
Any ideas are more than welcome!

For one the guano needs to go if its an auto in my opinion. Try planting directly into soil. Don't allow them to stay too wet! I just lost about 80 to 100$ worth of seeds to my black thumb! Get some seeds starter mix with nothing in it.

How deep you're planting them? I myself in the beginning (when was a bit paranoid) carefully moved the soil above to see if they growing or not.
Maybe not a good idea but I didn't suffer from it either. That's

Paper towel method.

Your soil sounds a bit rich for seedlings - I usually just use regular seedling soil from the garden centre in 500ml/1l pots until they are a week old then plant the entire pot into the final pot - the final pot has the stronger organic mix in it; for exampel a 1l airpot can be planted straight into a bigger pot or the ground without disturbing the root ball. In fact you could just keep the small pots indoors until they break through - they dont even need light at that stage.

Also ensure you only plant the seeds about 2mm below the surface.

How am I doing it? In spite of myself, I think. I used paper towel and rapid rooter for my first two try's and water soak then straight into my soil for the latest two beans. Don't know how the right into soil worked as yet as I have not seen a sprout yet!

Ah great ideas people. Thank you very much for the replies....I will try neutral soil with no additives and put them for 1 week under 24hrs of CLF. Then I will take them outside and see what happens.

The expandable peat pods work well for me

Sprout them then put them into a light mix of peat, perlite and mild starter nutrients. Something like Pro Mix BX is a good medium to use. Keep them indoors under 24 hours of light until they have 4-5 nodes, then transplant outdoors. That should give you 100% success on your transplants.
