I just finished harvesting my 2 plants, and the yield looks really nice for my first grow. One had a wet weight of 210 grams, the other 254. So, if I have been reading correctly, I am expecting a dry yield of approximately 1/4 weight of the wet.

Since this is my first harvest, it was my first trim. I am curious how close the buds should be trimmed. I think mine are pretty loose, but I was afraid of trimming to nothing. I ended up with a large amount of trim for cannabutter and edibles, so nothing will be wasted. They by no means look like the bud that comes from a dispensary, but I wasn't sure if they tighten up some during the drying process.

I would say it is all about preference, If you feel comfortable with the way they are now you could choose to leave them and then do a little trim each time you smoke some if you think there is too much leaf matter. You can then still use your dry trim for edibles ect.
