Wassup guys all I've grown is autos. I like how fast they finish and I can grow multiple plants in a small space so needless to say I'm an auto guy :toke:

I'm going to order some autos from attitude since its a promo and u can get a free Og kush Or blue dream.

I was just curious how long do photos actually take from start to finish?
:smokebuds:

It depends on the strain. Indicas will finish faster than sativas but its gonna be at least 4 - 4.5 months from seed to harvest. Look at the description of the flowering time and add 2 - 3 months.

9-20

on most decent finishers 2 weeks veg 8 weeks flowers give or take a week

So u let them veg for 2-3 months?

Cause it says flowering is 8-16 weeks..

You should let it grow for at least a 30 day veg before flowering. But before that it takes about a month to germ and get through the "seedling stage". So its germ 7 - 10 days, seedling 3- 4 weeks, veg 30 day minimum for full potential, then preflower 1 - 2 weeks, and finially flowering

Thanks man that's pretty much as clear as it gets :smokebuds:

No problem. Photos are a slow to grow plant but well worth it in the end. You might consider taking cuttings and making clones. They grow faster because they are already in veg so once they root they take off and can be made to flower at any time. You can potentially get 60 clones off of 1 good plant.

So I won't have to go through the germ or seedling stage saving me about 5 weeks?

I'd say clones save you more like 2 weeks than 5.. but it's not a time saving technique really.. you see..

I grow 1 Purple Wreck plant with no intention of flowering it, I veg it for 6 weeks then start to clone it -
I chop 8 clones and it takes a week to root them..
That's 7 weeks after I germinated my seed already..
Now I veg the clones for two weeks until normal growth resumes..
That's 9 weeks after I germinated my seed.. (two week veg on clones is okay, ideally you want 3-4)
We're now three weeks after I chopped my clones, I can probably get another 4 off the mother plant..
Root, veg, repeat..

Clones aren't really a way to save time as they are to preserve genetics.. now I can take a clone and I can STS / CS it and make feminized seeds or I can pollenate it with an auotflower or another photo and make a cross.. and work it out from there. Also with clones, every plant will react the same to the nutrients you feed it, so it's a lot easier to get dialed in with clones.

It takes about 7-14 days for a cutting to develop roots. How big you need the end plant to be defines how long yo should veg it for. Some strains are good to go after 2 weeks, others up to 6 weeks. Each strain is different but the basic rules are. The pot must be rooted out before switching to flower. The plant will triple in height from the switch to 12/12 lights. You must be able to ensure complete darkness for the dark period, no light leaks or litte LED's or thermostats flashing.

If you have two grow spaces then you can have plants vegged and ready to put into the flower room every time you crop. Going by seed sites description, you are best adding another week or two to the breeder estimate.

Being new to growing, your best sticking with auto's to see if you can pull off a harvest first, maybe get a couple of auto grows completed before venturing. Autos give a nice learning curve :)
