Indoor how many plants for a 600 his

I have 12 plants and 2 x 600 watt HPS lights, is this cramming too many plants, i have the corner of a room so space is no problem.
They are tiny right now, only week old. I could buy another ballast, shade and bulb for about £120 OR ??

Hey dude, youll probably get a few different opinions on this. But i think 600w hid covers a 4ft x 4ft area nicely, so if the plants are medium to big thats 4 under each light giving them a 2ftsq area each. But if your using small pots/ strains you can keep the pots much closer together

Thank you. i have 6 Think different and six Dark devil. Don,t know if they are big plants. I will wait a few days and see if anybody comes up with any ideas. It seems a shame to ditch 4 of them as they look healthy.

Well if they are alive and going all I can say is LST my friend. Keep your canopy as level as possible and when harvest comes take off all your top buds and let the bottom sit and get light longer. Maybe add some supplemental lighting to help.

what size pots are you running? They can get big.

Hi dooby...both those strains can get large..ie over 1m tall and likely as wide.. you can always buy the new ballast etc if things get too large for good coverage...

thank you, i will wait a few weeks and then decide if another ballast and lamp (£100 plus) is worth it
