New Grower How many plants in 24" x 32" closet?

I have a 400 watt HPS with two fans in a 24" x 32" x 72" closet in an air conditioned room. I will be adding 3- three foot fluorescent cool white bulbs in the rear and both sides. Trying to decide between 1, 2, or 4 plants. One Think Different Auto should fill the closet using LST and SCROG. Two slightly bushier Auto plants SOG or SCROG (any strain suggestions?), or four Autos with little branching and a main cola suitable for SOG. (Again, any suggestions?) Pot size is no problem, I have had four 5 gallon buckets in there before, and plan to use fabric bags of appropriate size.

Does any one have experience with these choices? Which choice will produce the most Bud by dry weight, then 2nd and 3rd? I realize growing I large plant with LST and SCROG would take the most time, two plants if SCROG, and four plants if SOG the least.

Since you got hps- canopy penetration will be good. I say run 4 AND do a little LST to get your feet wet... After you get a handle on just getting through the grow- and you've bound and gagged one a little - you can decide if you want to get "more involved" and hands on- or if you prefer the au natural approach. I might lean toward a 60ish day strain for your first grow- just to get some smoke happening quickly- but then TD going so long gives you more margin for error... Your call bit that's some stuff to consider.

What strains do you like if you are buying? That's how I decide what to grow- what provides the effect I like most. I don't care about size or yield or flowering/ grow time- just how it feels and smells and taste, in about that order.

Coolbreeze, I will try again to post a reply. I have been growing on and off for 15 years, mostly photos. I have a 4' x 8' x 8' tall grow room as well, that I plan on enlarging to 6' x 11', and making a Veg room 3' x 6' in one end. This Summer I installed an Air Conditioner mounted high up to allow year around growing. That room has an 8- bulb T-5 x 4' long and a 200Watt-300 Watt-400 Watt Hps. I am also installing 2- 2 bulb x 4' fluorescents, and CFL'S to even out the light. I also have a carbon filter vented outside with a variable speed control. I am currently veg'ing Fem BC Early Blueberry, Fem Crimea Blue, and Fem Pineapple Gum from seed . From clones I am veg'ing Mango, White Widow and Berry Bomb. From my own seeds I am veg'ing a Cheese, Ganesh, and Shot Adrenaline, all Fem and pollinated from six different Photo and Auto males by error. Two of three Ganesh have Indicia leaves and the 3rd Sativa leaves.

I grew some Autos in this closet a few months ago. One Makka Auto Blueberry Kush, one Dinafem Critical +2.0 Auto, One Fast Buds Pineapple Express Auto (which died when a few inches tall), and two others I don't recall. I was trying a new soil mixture and couldn't find some ingredients including Dolomite and ended with soil PH 8,which I didn't know for a month because I had no PH Meter. It was too late to use PH down except for one plant I expect to get 1/4 oz. The other three total yielded 1/4 oz., all good weed.

I guess what I am looking for is experience in picking two or four plants to grow, as I don't want to put all my eggs in one basket. Thank you in advance.
