I just set up my first grow tent ever, for my first indoor grow in 25 years. I’ve got a true 640W (the wall) Samsung QB LED light and I’m wondering how many plants I can reasonably grow in there? I have 2 photos that are already growing (I sexed them and just turned them back to 20/4 for vegging) in there that are about 16” tall. I want to put some autos in there with them. Before I go popping beans I’d like to know how many will fit in there, so I don’t waste seeds.

These are the strains in considering putting in there:

Fast Buds Auto Green Crack
Flash Fruity Critical Kush
Dutch Passion Auto Ultimate
Dinafem Cheese XXL Auto

Ideally, I’d like to put one of each in there but I’m not sure if 6 plants (total) is too many for a 5’x5’x7’ tent? What is your advice?

I think it just depends on the grow. Some only grow one tree in a 5x5 while others might do like 16 in a sog or scrog. I could probably only do 4 in that tent but 6 would probably be fine.

Thanks @Damien50 ! This indoor grow, for me, is less about yield and more about: A) Testing flavor and effect first-hand. B) Evaluating potential (ease of growth and yield potential) for future grows - particularly outdoors. Even though I may not be able to make the absolute yield possible, how it grows will certainly give me an idea of its potential under even more optimal conditions C) Get my feet wet in the indoor game. D) Learn and educate myself for future grows. E) Provide a couple of mother’s that I can clone for outside next spring, if I like them. I figured 6 Plants would work but I want to make sure that wouldn’t be way too much. I haven’t decided for sure but I’m pretty sure I’ll do some sort of SCROG style of grow.

With my current grow I was aiming for yield and ease of growth in a 4x4 but I only did two that take up 70% of the tent lol. I think method would have something to do with how many plants one might decide to grow and your intent would probably be fine with 6. Depends on the strains as well.

I've always leaned towards light spread. So I would be inclined to have two lesser wattage lights versus one larger wattage light etc.

I do 9 autos in a 4x4' area with a 600W light.

Well so far I've only done 4 plants in a 4x4 and filled it wall to wall. But depending on pot size and strains you could do more.

Just autos haven't run my chance at photos indoors yet.

Remember though bud...some of those strains you chose are meant to be huge!! Dp AU, Cheese XXl (maybe others? not sure) can get big...if you want to push the limit with six i would advise some sort of root restriction dwarfing, or at least contain them in smaller pots
