Hi I have a 2metre x 2metre tent with a 600 watt hps just wondering how many plants would grow best in that space ? Thanks

Welcome to AFN, Marco. Look at it this way: a 600W HPS puts out about 90,000 lumens. You need around 3,000 lumens per square foot for a decent grow, 5,000 per sq ft for an optimal grow. You have ~43 square feet so that gives you ~2.100 lumens per sq ft, clearly not enough. So a smaller tent or more lighting is required. That amount of lumens would be perfect for a 5ft x 5ft setup (3,600 lumens per sq ft)..

I am on my first autogrow with a single auto wembley. I have a 250watt HPS within a 1m x 1m x1m cupboard, temp and RH are perfect and the plant is thriving and perfectly healthy... So one would assume 2 plants Max. in similar conditions should also..

With HPS lights the general rule of thumb is 50 watts per square foot in veg, 60+ in flower. Your space is 42 square feet, so to light the whole area you would need two 1,000 watt HPS lights at a minimum. Four 600 watters would work better. A single 600 watt HPS is good for about 10 square feet, or an area about 1 meter square. That will be enough to grow about 6-9 autos, depending on the strain and what size pots you use.

Thanks for the replys:Thank You:! I have got a 1.2 x 1 metre tent aswel be better off using that with the one 600 for now with extraction fan ? Was thinking 2-3 gallon pots ?

The smaller tent would be a better fit for that light. Six 3 gallon or nine 2 gallon pots should fit in there nicely. Yes, you will need an extraction fan to remove the heat generated by the HPS light and keep your temperatures in check.
