Hi all I'm just about to order some AF seeds but I'm just a bit worried about potency. I'm not worried about yield but potency is very important to me and I was just wondering if the newer AF match modern strains in potency. The early joint doctor releases didn't really do it for me are they better for people who only smoke every now and then and have lo tolerances. ? Really sorry if all this has been asked before. Many thanks.

Just like with photos, most of the potency is in the skill of the grower...there are autos out there today that can hang with all but the rarest clone-only strains.

They have come a long way since then! And they can hang with the best of them

Autos have come a long way in the last 4-5 years and are approaching the quality and potency of the best photo strains. By way of comparison I did grows of the photo Blackskull Pineapplegum and their auto version, and World of Seeds Pakistan Valley and their auto Pakistani Ryder. While not identical, due to the ruderalis influence in the autos, they were very close in not only potency, but also in bud quality and taste.

It does matter if you're smoking autos or photos, tolerance can become an issue if you smoke the same strain all the time. I've found the best way to avoid tolerance issues is to have several strains and switch off every day or two.

Thanks for taking the time to respond guys. Iv been reading allot about them most recently from the guy who owns dutch passion says exactly the same as you. I remember when they first came out everyone hated them lol but reading on the forums the mood has definitely changed about these little gems. It was only the potency I was worried about as iv seen pics on how well they grow but that don't seem to be an issue anymore.

The Autos that ive grown and toked have been very very good. Not quite up there with best but more than hit the spot and I suppose the more they develop the stronger they will become. I agree with the above post with regards to mixing it up with different strains but that can be said of any weed...even the best cheese or phycosis that ive had. If you dont try them you wont know!
