So far everything that I have purchased for growing has been from HTG supply close to $3000. The first time I went in I had little to no idea what I was looking for. I asked them for help and that's when everything started to go wrong. I asked them about a ph meter and they sold me general hydros ph kit with ph up and down which killed my microbes in my soil and was not very accurate. The next thing was the soil. They told me I could start seeds in roots organic soil(camo bag/707)with no amendments which is not true and because of that my seedlings got burnt and stunted and didn't recover. The next mistake they made was selling me 10000k bulbs instead of the 6500k bulbs I asked for. They told me that spectrum penetrates better but I found out those lights are for aquariums. The next issue I had is my agromax tents seem to be off gassing which it say specifically on their site that they don't sell off gassing tents. I called them to get these tents replaced and they said its been to long so they can't do anything for me. I wouldn't recommend buying anything from HTG supply as they have no knowledge and rude employees. The specific store that I bought my equipment at was the portland Maine store. I would strongly advise stearing clear of that store and all other HTG supplies

Another thing I forgot to mention is that they quoted me for a price and then when my girlfriend went to pick it up it was more expensive than they said and when she asked why they laughed at her and made her feel stupid for asking

Well damn, that sucks. I just directed a friend to grab their 600W tent set-up as it was cheap and his funds were limited. I've only heard good things about them before (mainly centered around cost) but then again, only online, this is the first I'm hearing any reviews of their retail locations...

I've only met a handful of grow store employees who really know what they're talking about, and it usually ends up being the owner...

Sorry about your bad experiences bro, that sucks. I will add that I have ordered a few products from their website (specific things I was looking for) and haven't had any issues with them.

I am currently using two of their 400 watt hps lights. Been using them for about 2 years now with no problems. I also had two in the past as well. Never had any issues with them but I have never been to their retail location, they don't even have one in my state. Sucks you had such a crappy experience.

The prices are very fair and that's the main reason I went there. But I'm willing to spend a little extra money now to get good customer service. On the bright side though I called the 1866 number and complained until they agreed to send me new tents at no cost.

I've never bought from them but my impression from looking at their web site and working with new growers who have purchased from them is that they are able to offer low prices because they generally use lower quality products. I looked at them when I bought my first HPS setup and found their ballasts and bulbs to be inferior to others available for not much more money. I haven't looked at their site in a long time so maybe things have changed, but the HPS bulbs they used in their systems did not have an expanded blue spectrum. So anyone planning on using one of their HPS systems for both veg and flowering, would need to upgrade the bulb. At about $100 for a Hortilux or Digilux 400 watter, that would negate any savings. Personally I've been buying from Plantlightinghydroponics for about 4 years now and have found their prices to be as low or lower than anyone else. Their shipping rates are usually lower and their service is excellent.

Some products are fine some are not... I bought HPS/mh switchable ballasts years of steady service...so many I forgot...400-600 1000 had one digi go bad they replaced no questions asked... so I have nothing but good to say about them...BUT I don't buy some of there stuff because it looks like junk...

I've done alot of business with HTG over the last 3 years and bought alot of different things from them.I originally bought one of their 4" inline fan/scrubber combos and it didn't do such a good job with smell and the fan was rocket engine loud.I have had good luck with their T5 lights and they been running good with no problems for 2 years now.

Hey Mainemed, sorry for your unfortunate experience. Total bummer.

I bought nearly my entire setup from HTG a while back. A couple months later I wasn't satisfied with some of my gear and asked them about returning and was immediately accepted for exchange. Which was great, because I ended up with a much better setup. As said before, I think it's kinda hit or miss, but I have had far more hits, luckily.

I too have the Agromax tent. What is off gassing? I'm not familiar with that. I am not using it now to grow, but still interested.
