Grow Mediums Hydroton around airdome or strait coco?

Saw some other threads about this and I’m getting ready to start a new grow. Personally I have had no issues using the hydroton around the airdome, but see others say it’s detrimental. What’s the consensus with coco?

Well I never got an answer from anyone so I skipped the hydroton layer and just used strait coco loco around the airdome, will see how it goes!

I’m no expert but have been told clay pebbles as a bottom layer were unnecessary and that straight soil would be fine.

I have done coco and soil with and without hydroton and didn’t notice a difference.

Sorry @jdot missed this. I just use straight coco with airdomes in my autopots and turn on my airdomes at day 12-15 as it seems to give them a boost. Haven't tried running yet without airdomes so I can't tell you if it makes any difference.
