Can anyone help ID this deficiency? I'm running a dwc, ec 1.3 at 4 weeks. ph has been ok at 5.8 while using ph perfect nutes from AN. Just a few fan leaves are affected, rest of the plant is pretty healthy.

With your lights on I cant tell the color of those spots. If they are orange or gold looking its calcium def,if there purple looking its phosphorous def.

Are the spots creamy/tan, not as yellow-brown as a burn? If so, I've seen that on my plants 2-3 times. And, a member posted a photo recently with the same thing.

When I saw it on my plants, the closest thing I saw was these photos said to be "ph fluctuation." When it happened to me I had been experimenting with ph, bouncing around alot. So, it seemed plausible. Yours look like what I saw. It only appeared on 5-10 leaves. One of your spots looks a bit purlplish like a phosphorous deficiency. But, that color may be from your LED?

Since it's in hydro, I'd also assume cal/mag. What kind of water are you using, RO?

Tap water with a background EC of 0.1. I just upped the calmag to about 18ml for a 6L res on the last rez change. Label says only 1ml per Liter. I'm at 3x that much. Not seeing any burned tips, only these spots and they are spreading to the 60 DW.

Should I prune the leaves with the most advanced stages of def? Got one or 2 big fan leaves that are starting to dry up and get crispy with this def.

What is your EC reading after adding the cal/mag? .1 EC is 50 ppm. AN states that in order for their pH Perfect to work properly the ppm should be between 100 to 125 ppm, or about .2 EC. If you are way above that, which I suspect, it's quite possible it's interfering with the availability of the AN nutes. I ran into this in my RDWC system when I added too much cal/mag. I ended up with what looked like a cal/mag deficiency when it was actually an excess of cal/mag inhibiting proper nutrient uptake. Also, what is the pH of your tap water? Again, pH Perfect won't work if the pH is out of range.

In what order should I be adding nutes? I usually start with the Calmag, in the beginning I was using the recommended 1ml per liter now to 3ml per l. Should I cut back to 1ml per l? How do I make the adjustment and take measurement?

So if my water is at 0.1 already, add only enough Calmag to get to 0.2 then add the ph perfect nutes? Should I be at full dose of 4ml per liter as advertised or cut back?

What ec exactly should I be at for week 5 changing over to bloom nutes? I'm going to mix my first bloom rez this weekend, how do I do it properly? Nutes on hand are:
Sensibloom
Big bud
Overdrive
B52
Voodoo juice
Calmag

Again rez size is 6liters.

My tap water ph is 7.0 but I'm keeping it dialed in at 5.8 with ph down after a few days when it creeps up.

I did a rez top off today with 1.25l of tap water only and alternate top offs with an nutes.

If you don't already have a meter to measure EC you need to get one. Virtually impossible to grow without one. The process is pretty simple. Check the EC of your water, add enough cal/mag to raise it to about .2, then add your Sensi Grow during veg or Semsi Bloom during flower. Your pH on your water is good at 7. Do not add any pH Down to it, just leave it at 7. The pH Perfect will lower it to the proper range. Adding pH Down isn't necessary and will only mess up the pH Perfect. Just follow the AN nute schedule but only at half their recommended stength. Most auto strains won't tolerate more than half strength. Sensi Grow for the first 5-6 week, until vertical growth stops, then switch to Sensi Bloom. Add the supplements as AN recommends.
