Grow Mediums Inside a res pic from Mega crop

My tap ppm before 24hrs is 255 after 24hrs its 152. Lowest ive seen was 100 after 72hrs.

This is the inside of a res I used for a grow using mega crop. My valves were caked in the stuff too. I mixed medium-high hard city tap water with RO water 50/50 for all the nute mixes. I'm surprised at how much residue I get.

That’s crazy. I never do anything to my reservoir, except rinse it out occasionally and after months of using MC do not see anything like that. My reservoir is still black. It almost has to be something in your water making it precipitate out and encrust on the sides like that. I normally use rainwater which is 0.01EC.

I switched to RO water only now. Just on day 20 of a grow using RO only. And just turned on the reservoirs too, so we'll see if that makes a difference. I am using local bottled RO water right now and that stuff my not be the best stuff so I did order my own 4 phase RO filter and will use that once it gets here.

I wouldn't worry about it, most of it is just where it's drying on the side of the tank when the level drops. If you aren't getting clogs and your plants look good, it's all good.

A little vinegar added to your cleaning solution should clear it when you do a reservoir cleaning.

Its too late! I am on RO only now. and I got some new toys to play with to make it happen. Pls don't spoil my fun!!! LOL.

I am pretty sure my previous grows were suffering from my water. But its one of those things that is hard to prove. I did get clogs before actually, but not a ton of them. and my valves and trays are just as coated with the junk as the res was. I just think it can't be right.

The latest grow is a lot better than my previous ones so I think there is something to this water I was using not being very good.

I would be requesting a list of what they add to your water. That has to be hell on a hot water tank as well.
