Hello AFN Its Doctapurp. I have joined a few weeks back and have been doing alot of reading and research on here and thought it is time to post an introduction.

I love the vibe and community here and im sure I can fit right in with you all and hope to learn alot more from you guys as im a new grower.

I'm in the process of starting my first grow of PKA( I think it fits lol) as it seems like a good auto for a beginner. I'll post my journal as soon as i get up some pics because I know i will need alot of help haha. Wish me luck!

What kind of equipment are you using right now? How many are you going to run at once?

Hey wg Thx for the warm welcome. I'm currently using a 100w led from advancedledlights.com with OF medium in 5 gal equivalent air pots. Trying to grow 2 PK autos atm but i think i might have a tap root problem with my germ direct 2 soil method. The tap root(I think its the tap root) is above soil 4 days into germination and has curled to form a hook like shape (which is above soil) then going back down into the soil.I might not have placed the seed deep enough into the soil not sure. I can barley see the seed n it appears to be on its side

idk if this is a problem or not but my other seed has not even showed signs of sprouting yet. I can take pics if needed

Very carefully dig around the seed and basically get it to collapse beneath where the seed is currently and without touching that root get it to fall down in some and cover it up a little better.

Put a clear plastic cup on top of where the seedling is and spritz the cup/soil don't water the dirt too much or your root may dampen off (mold up and die).. you can put it all under the dirt still and it'll find it's way out, no worries.

Your 100W LED is it 100W draw or 100W worth of diodes?

I took your advice man and covered the top with a layer of soil. I didn't have any plastic cups on hand so i cut the bottom half of a water bottle misted it a lil n the soil and rested it on top of where the seed was placed. here is a pic of what it looked like before i fixed it. Think all will be ok?

Dude are you sure it's just not the seedling naturally breaking the soil ? They always look strange when breaking the surface, they have a curvature and then form into the stem after a few hours. Good luck dude, hope you have many fruitful grows ahead of you

when i dug into the soil the tap root kept running down into the soil im almost positive its the tap root i didnt want to dig further down because i didnt want to damage it. i took the advice that wg said n now only time will tell

Thx guys for the welcome! I'm happy to say i applied the technique that wg said and today i woke up to see the sprout above ground on its way of forming its first set of leaves. Already this site has helped me in more ways then i expected haha. As for my other pka it hasn't sprouted yet, I will probably give it another 2-3 days as i put a dome on it as well.

If not ill just try to germ another pk n see if I get better luck with that. Fingers crossed
