so I've grown outdoors last year and now doing an indoor sweet seeds mandarine cream in 2 gallon pots. my tent is 5ft h x 4 ft w x 2 ft deep, and as a noob grower I bought a bunch of seeds for my next grow that probably wont fit in my tent as they're tall sativas.... canuck seeds durban poison and strawberry cough. I'd like to do a micro grow run next. using my opnuo light led and kingsled. both draw about 130 - 200.true watts each I think. I'm more interested in quality over quantity as I can't find this variety at all my local dispensaries so I thought I'd grow them. can I just stick these in
.... 1 gallon pots and do lst with gaia green nutes and still fit the height limits of my tent? grateful for thoughts.

Yes you can grow them in a limited space. Flip to 12/12 when they are less than 12 inches tall and be prepared to do a lot of training including super cropping. A net would be very helpful as you can LST them along the net until into flowering using a SCROG method. Not a support method.

scrog sounds ideal. thx for the diagram. very helpful. scrog could allow me to veg beyond 12in in height? meaning veg until I'm out of room to scrog. could probably do one of each sativa ( strawberry cough and dp, in my tent). would that also allow me to use a bigger pot like 2-3 gallon? appreciate your help

A photoperiod plant that is flipped at 12" will be 36" tall minimum. So if you set your net at about 8". start training for 4" or 5" then flip and continue to train for 12" more then just let flower They might fit. Man plans, nature laughs :crying:

thank you again for this helpful info. I take your point about nature lol.

Scrogging is IMO a waste of time, space and materials. People try to way over control these plants rather then work with them.

You can do a super crop clone or just LST and do the same thing way faster, easier and cheaper.

This is water only with blumat perpetual.
The things naturally scrog themselves.

I also think some peoples lighting systems and setups encourage stretch. You have a bomb spectrum and intense light with all your variables locked in you will get alot less stretch and alot more budsites. Environment has alot to do with what the plant does. The center Chilled is a Veg Spectrum. I feel it helps keep the internub spacing small. I also am blasting those bitches. No need to stretch to light.

Agreed...I read that post and then saw the ChilLED and was like, "well of course, obviously with those lights!"

A scrog is a good way to make up for a low penetration light, but if you have a dope light you're usually way way better off.

Also, a temp swing greater than 10 degrees F between day/night can make plants stretchy. Keep temp delta as small as you can during flowering to manage height and direct growth to bud not stems.

I have sometimes almost a 25F swing between day and night. I see no stretch. IMO it has more to do with high humidity and high temps for stretching. Outdoors plants see all types of stuff that people say is terrible indoors. I honestly think 90% of peoples issues are over doing things.
I spend maybe 4 hours a week in the garden now that everything is perpetual. I dont even PH. Just good ass soil and techniques based on nature.

I have seen 50 degree even 60 outdoors between day and night.

as far as the lights. It is bay far the cheapest and easiest way to upgrade besides genetics. I am amazed at the difference even between a 240 dollar 2x2 light and a 400$ 2x2 light. You get what you pay for. it is not just yield but other components runnning less. IE fans and carbon filters.

My parents are old. They bought the best they could. buy once cry once. I use tools from my great grandpa still. If it can be made in the USA.... Guess What we DO make the best shit. The boys at chillled are constantly pushing. Not copying. I buy USA if I can Not copy cat cheapos. And the results pay for themselves.

DJ short says some of the best buds dont get direct sunlight. some of the best and most crystally I have seen dont get direct light 100% of the time either.
