Is subcool's super soil still relevant or outdated.

Its been a while sense I have put a grow up in here and I can teach you some stuff but I still make mistakes too. One of the better growers on here is Pops and eyes on fire. I would follow both of these people. They do stuff a little different than I do but have a better understanding of organics than I do. Here is a picture of an old grow for ya though in a mix I did. One plant likes the mix, the green one which pulled 1/4 LB but the purple one only did 2 ounces and was way over fed. I knew it would happen going in to the grow but did it as a little bit of an experiment for my self. One of the most important things is either finding how to grow a strain or finding a strain that grows good using the method you like. To start off I would use a [HASHTAG]#15[/HASHTAG] pot and a full bag of soil and as you get better at growing start learning to grow in smaller pots. This will do a few things for you. [HASHTAG]#1[/HASHTAG] if you under feed the plant its not as bad because you have a lot of soil. [HASHTAG]#2[/HASHTAG] it is harder to over feed because there is more soil, [HASHTAG]#3[/HASHTAG] don't have to water as often and [HASHTAG]#4[/HASHTAG] it is just easier for me to get larger plants in larger pots. Only down side is space and the fact that I use a $22 bag of soil each grow per plant. It is better in my opinion to do a few good plants than a lot of small ones. Be realistic about how many plants will fit in your grow space and how much light you space needs. If I had a 250W light, actual wattage I would use a 2.5 X 2.5 space and one plant. Not tell you have around 400W would I run more than one plant. This is just my opinion though and many have good success growing lots of plants in a small space but I don't. I go for quality and density in my grows. The pictures are a great example of one plant liking a mix and the other not liking it at all. This is why I say pick a strain and master your mix for that strain. I don't use the same mix every grow yet. I am still in the experiment faze but if you want a mix to start with her ya go.

4 cups of manure, 1/3 cup of bat guano, 1/4 cup bone meal, 3 table spoons of lime, 2 table spoon on epsom salt and 1 table spoon of azomite. I would start your mix with as few ingredients as possible and then add stuff later down the road after you figure out the basic mix your after. If you have a problem it is easier to figure out what it was that messed your grow up. I would have some nutrients on hand with the mix so if you need them just in case. Its hard for me to give you a good recipe as my red dwarf likes a unique mix compared to most other autos and its all I have grown lately/ about the past year. As you can see the Purple Kush hated the mix it was in. The Purple Kush I have is probably the most sensitive thing to nitrogen I have ever grown.

One thing I would recommend that will make growing a lot funner is breeding your own seeds. It will save you some cash and give you some pride in your grows. I would do a few grows and then try making some seeds. It sucks less wen you mess a grow up on some free seeds compared to a $10 seed. I will be going F3 with a strain this year out door that I have been working on for a few years now.

You planning on indoor in pots or out in the ground because there 2 different animals. Out door in ground is easier for me than indoor pots. If indoor do you have a light and what dose your grow space look like? Is it cooled and have good air flow?

For photos I use the super soil mix. Going to be running the Jillybeen next photo grow and have the soil mixed and cooking as of a few days ago. Going to do 2 autos and start my photos at day 35-40 in to the auto grow. I will probably harvest the autos at day 65 to day 70 and switch the lights on the photos at around day 40 but am going to start the photos a little late so if the autos take a little longer than normal to mature. I like to stagger an auto/photo grow as this allows me to grow photos and still harvest a little over every 2 months. I will tell ya even if you mess up a grow with organics and get your mix wrong the flavor and quality is usually still awesome. Most of the time you yield will suffer but the quality is not effected as much when you over or under feed like it does with bottled nutrients.

I as many others typically use it for photos. But, so far I have never been unhappy in any form with the results.

as is the Sub cools recipe doent have the proper buffering capacity is should have,so in turn not being able to safely have a root zone easily and protected. if it was balanced a little better imo,it would be able to deliver those sensetive strains to harvest a little easier. when its a more compolete mix imho it'll let the plant give even a more aggressive profile yet also be able to deal care in the growth of the plant. a complete system really get you going when it comes to harvest time. thats why I wanna be able to do some live resin freezing. imagine being able to freeze that plant profile mmmmmmm that"d be killer :D

everytime I turn people onto this mix(known several to use it WELL) each time it HAS to be worked lightly or even a LOT at times. but needs to be more well rounded imo is all. its a fine mix.just has a few smaller issues. Im sorry my two buddies are not here. they could REALLY REALLY help you giuys with the subs recipe. I tired it,I didnt care for it. it was good at the time for HIS strains that werent sensitive.
