My 15 day old Short Stuff Onyx continues to widen with minimal increase in height. Third set of three blades are developing well. The cotyledon and single blade leaves are heavily drooping. Should I clip these or just wait for them to die off on their own? Only giving them plain water. Its in a 5-1/2 inch pot with 7-4-3 potting mix and 2x 23w(100w) 5000k 1600 lumens 4 inches above. Time to start with vegetative nutrients?

Sorry. Meant this to go in the New Growers forum. Mods feel free to move if you agree.:o

There is nothing wrong with your plants,Do not cut any leaves off. What kind of soil are you using, are those 7-4-3.time release? I have to know this before we continue.

It was sprouted in peat, about a 3 inch diameter x 5 inch tall plug. On Day #6 after breaking ground in the peat, the peat plug/seedling was dropped into a 5-1/2 inch square 6 inch tall pot filled with standard 7-4-3 time release potting soil.

Are you planning on potting up the pot seems hell of a small GDH :peace:

dex - Available growing space in my 24w x 18d x 40h box is 18w x 12d x 36h. Currently only have two 5-1/2 pots in it, but if I keep pots this size I can have up to 6 in there.

Lmao, sorry should of asked that first about your space :o as for the nutes keep your eye on the bottom 2 peanut leaves and the next 2 above for any fadeing of colour then you can add grow nutes and take it from there GDH :peace:

Thanks dex! So far I see no difference in color. Was getting concerned about the drooping of the single blade leaves as they are nearly touching the soil as shown in the pic.

Dont worry about that this always happens with mine mate once the girls get up a bit i normaly take them off cause they get in the way when watering
and are a pain in the arse :peace:

Your plants look fine. If your concerned that they aren't getting tall enough, simply raise your lights a bit more. Ideally you want the node spacing, the space between new leaf sets, to be about 1". Soils with slow release nutrients are generally avoided for growing autos. Most take about 3 months to be exhausted and autos don't like that high N level once they go into full flower, around week 5-6. I would be very cautious about giving any additional nutrients, especially in veg. The slow release will probably be enough.
