Hello right I;m growing some TD and they are growing in 3 gallon buckets and what I have done is got a small plant pot in the middle berried in the soil where the seed was planted so that I water only the small pot for about 2 weeks so it doesn't get over watered. So would I be able to slip the small pot out after the 2 weeks? because auto's obvs don't like being transplanted I thought I would do this but would that be classed as transplanting ? if anyone can help that would be great

So youve just isolated the area where your watering?if thats the case id say no its not classed as repotting.:2cents: got pics?

Yes that's exactly what I have done! and I'm just worried if I slip the small pots out will it shock the roots at all and I'll try upload one for you now :)

well imho its not truly needed to isolate the area.just add say a cap full of water when you believe it needed.thats how I personally make sure to not to overwater my seedlings. How deep is the pot?if its not sprouted yet id personally say remove it carefully and use a spray bottle and mist the area down.or dribble lightly some water over it close to pot to not cause an heavy disruption to the soil and seed(s).

Edit:ok I think I understand you have a small sprout coming up right?

I'm just sorting my phone out to gets up pics and well 1 is about 2" tall and the other is about 1" so I don't know what to do lol

if your worried and since I dont have a pic to see whats what, imho,I would take siccors to it and cut it into sections a pull them out carefully in pieces.straight out slowly n wiggle them ever ever so slight to get them moving.thats how I'd handle it man.

Edit: then rewater it slightly.or better yet a spray bottle would work better to remoisten the soil in a controlled manner.:2cents:

take er time brother Im not goin anywhere.

Mr T-D ... what you are referring to would be considered transplanting but if done very carefully can be accomplished w/ minimal shock ... the trick is to time the removal of the smaller pot to just before it becomes root bound ... but there is only one half way good reason to do this and that's if the soil in the larger pot is too hot for seedlings during the first two weeks of life ... once the inner pot is no longer a seedling, carefully removing it's pot and placing back in the hole (then watering) can be done ... the idea proves you're thinking but generally doesn't work that well in practice ... if you're only doing it to avoid overwatering your seedling then transplant it now and be done w/ it ... if it's a matter of too hot soil check into a a very successful technique called tiering that should have many threads on this board ... good luck w/ your grow ...
