yeah today I ripped the little film someone had told me about, it was stuck that's why I said ripped, I used a toothpick and my finger to poke a whole thru it and allow the leafs to split open. I have it outside right now soaking up as much morning sun thru its recently freed leafs.

...you got it mate! Sometimes that membrane gets stuck, and dries like a wrapper around the cotyl's,... A tip: use the full cup of soil, such shallow depth will restrict the tap root right away,... better still use large one as well!
