just a quick one....

looking at a vipar 300W unit to light a 3 foot by 2 foot cabinet which is only 3 foot tall

Am i going to run into problems given the gap between theplant and light?

obviously i know i will have to pick shorter strains but i dont want to grow any thing that wont yield at least an ounce!

cheers guys

Iv been running a 240 watt panel from them 6 inches from one of my older plants she is fine! Got a second v240 to go in my grow space and its 2x2 good luck :) let me know when you have a journal going so we can give these lights the review they deserve.

Peace

You shouldn't have any problem.
I wouldn't bother looking for small strains if you want an ounce per plant.
Get midsized strains and train the hell out of them with Low stress training (LST)
You will be way more happy with your yield in my opinion.
Fighting an out of control beast trying to outgrow your space is a much better problem for me than putting 3 months into plants that would be hard pressed to yield an ounce under optimal conditions.
I have experienced both problems by the way.
Plants grew into my 240BS, I had to tie it down, then I still had to super crop the main stem. A much better outcome than poorly yielding smaller variaties.
Temps may be your problem, how are you going to keep it cool?

Yea I got a blackstar 240 uv about 6 to 8 inches over mine and never ran into any bleaching! I don't think that 240w is enough light to bleach anything. Now with a new 700 something watts with the new lens, then your gonna have some white chronic! Haha

great info!

i will have to check out all your journals!

Heat wise i have a 5inch extractor and will be custom making a carbon filter with ona trap!

ill also stick a fan in gor breeze and the room can ve better ventilated

I just had a growpanel pro 300w a friend dropped on me kill several babies due to my lack of knowledge on use of LED's. Too much distance did not grow them, too close and I stunted a few and bleached others. Total of 12 clones/ seedlings I killed due to my lack of knowledge about LED's and proper distance.

I started a thread looking for help a while back and have posted what I have learned there and others have jumped in with what they are learning. check it out here
