Hi Everyone,

Currently I am running my tent in a 20 on 4 of cycle every day. I am hoping some people can weigh in on what they find to be a optimal lighting cycle when using LED's. Does anyone run there lights 24/7 with no down time and what would be some pros and cons to this? Does anyone find different cycles at different points in the grow to be beneficial?

Thanks,

Goose

I think it's probably strain specific to a degree...

Some strains suffer from interveinal chlorosis (yellowing between the veins of the leaf)
if not given some down time, some strains don't. A lot of people run 24/0 but some folks
feel like a little rest period is absolutely essential. One of those deals where no objective
answer seems to be on the table yet...

On my first grow I went 24/0 for veg. (to maximize growth/size) and went to 20/4 for
flowering to give them a rest so they could "catch a breath" but that really is just
an anecdotal judgment call to my knowledge.

Well i run my Leds 24/7 and the only downside i discovered so far is that they aint stretch that much thru Pre FLowering. If you want to have bigger ladys then i would advice in this time to switch to 20/4 but if you want them Low n Bushy go on with 24/7. Some also say Trichome Production is at night .....Humbug i never had such frosty Ladys like the last 24/7 rund with the Mephisto Automatics. Ah and the other downside is ..u use 4 hrs more electricity.....but who cares with a Led :D

You know Trapper you may have hit the nail on the head as to what my problem might be with one of my ladies still showing pale-ish green leaves. I am running them 24/0 and I think I am going to switch them tomorrow to 20/4 I never even thought about the light being the cause of the interveinal cholorsis and pale leaves. I am running the 2 1kw HID's so it is very plausible. Thanks for giving him the advice and helping me too! Max rep fo sho
