getting ready to start another grow, wondering if two Mars 300watt lights will be as good or better than the 600 has im using now?and Mitch the supernatural og is very good, love the taste and smell
HotBunz makes a valid point as far as the spectrum, but they still grow good plants. maybe a few 6500k cfl on the side would help with thatHere is all of the advice I can give regarding these lights. I assume you are talking about the MarsHydro 300w old model LED. Next question are you dealing with the "old" old model 300w which had 180w real power output or the "new" old model 300w unit which has 130w real power? Regardless 2 300w units will grow 3 plants very well.
I have 2 of the "old" old model 300w LEDs(180w draw) and frankly they are really over kill for my grow cabinet. I wish I had another 12" in height. One thing I will complain about with them is I wish they had a little more blue in their light spectrum for early veg stage. They will grow great plants with super tight internode spacing.
this would be my pick is I had the room. 2 you can angle and adjust as needed for even coverage. for me the biggest advantage is the lower heat output. a always, get the best you can afford. No dispute that 2 of them will grow nice plants but I'm telling ya..... even the new mars 2 400 watt panel is meant to replace a 250 watt hps and that's with the 5w diodes. Just by reading on there website I can't see how how 2 300 watt old panels could replace the output of a 600 hps ...... now I'm in a 3x3 tent and the 1200 watt is killing it... if your running the 3x4 you could easily run 4 plants under it or purchase 2 mars 2 700w panels so you have a little more options as far as how to hang dealing with plants at different heights......
