I will be using 4 225w output Kingbo LED panels from my first grows and 2 Missyee 900w output LED lights for my next grow, 2700w total output. I'm growing in a 4'x4'x7' tent. My question is: with that much light, will I still need to lower my lights to 24" to 30" or is there enough light saturation to do the job from a stationary position at the top of my tent? The 2 900w are centered 12" apart. The 4 225w are centered on all 4 sides of the tent even with the 900w at a 45° downward angle. The CFL is 300w for seedlings.

Any thoughts, comments or advice will be greatly appreciated.

Are those actual watts at the wall?
That is a lot of light for a 4x4 my friend.
Most growers would use about 600 watts of led in that space.

Im getting pretty decent results using 240- 360w in a similar sized space.

Thanks for the response! They actually pull 556.6w total at the wall according to my multimeter. Less than a refrigerator. I'd always read that the more light the better, as long as heat is managed. I do have a 285cfm exhaust fan (upgraded from a 165cfm), an 18" fan for circulation, two 6" fans for ventilation and a DIY A/C system to help cool things down. Avg temp inside tent is 75° pre-grow and I expect it to rise about 6°-10° once this grow is in full swing, which is cooler than all my previous grows (I live in the deep south and it's hot down here). I know that tents, depending on size, have a minimum acceptable wattage to light footprint ratio. I plan on scrogging, so I thought "why not make more light to cover every corner". So that's my story and I'm sticking to it. For now... [emoji1]

Sounds like your at a good starting point. I don't think you'll overpower it. The blurple tends to be less efficient, giving only reds and blues, but you can probably figure 30ish watts per square foot (wall draw) will get you thru.
