Lighting lighting what if...

I know with autos, more light the better basically..so just wanting to see if anyone's had experience with having to leave their plants for a bit of time..1 to 2 nights?!?! If so, did you turn the light(s) you use for your plants off? I foresee myself potentially have to go out of town (only 2 nights max) 1-2 times throughout the course of my upcoming grow. I am debating on whether to leave light on or off..If lighting MUST be left on majority of time, I will definitely have to make trips as short as possible b/c I don't see myself being comfortable with leaving light on. Any ideas on how this effects plants??

Iv left hem in the dark for 3 days and had no real efffects little droopy but nothing serious.....lights on with good temps is good also.

Why not use timer ? Are there any other issues ?

Yeah it'd still just be on at points when I wasn't home and that makes me nervous.
