3 days of lights off before harvest.

Setting aside whether it's bro science or not when you start the lights off cycle are your containers pretty dry or do you give them water just before lights off?

Starving your plants of nutrients, light, and water tends to force stress senescence (versus natural aging.) You're gaining virtually nothing by putting them in the dark like that, and potentially creating conditions more susceptible to mold (especially if you water the pot and stick the entire thing in darkness for days.)

If you're in a low humidity environment, giving the plants a drink before chopping could help slow down your dry time a bit as well versus sticking already dehydrated plants into an already dry environment, but that step doesn't involve sticking the plants in darkness 😛

I do dry in darkness. The branch doesn't die the moment you cut it, otherwise cloning wouldn't be possible.

Drying in the dark should prevent the life thats left in the branch from trying to make new chlorophyl.
