Lined fabric pot?

I am using 15 gal fabric pots and think the outside 3 inchs gets dry much quicker than the rest of the pot. I decided to try lining the pot with woven landscape fabric.I am trying to keep the soil alive and want to keep the air pruning qualtiy of the fabric pot . I use blumats and try to keep it between 40-100 mbar on the blumat digital meter. The bottom is not lined. What do you think? do you see any problems?

Sounds similar to Grassroot living soil fabric pots with a proprietary plastic layer inside so it should work! They leave the bottom 4" of the pot unlined for drainage.
