I've been looking at PH meters on Amazon, and to be honest, it seems as though they all have a high number of negative reviews.
At the same time, I've learned to take ratings on Amazon with a grain of salt.
With that being said, I was hoping to get some real life reviews on these devices from the folks here.

Thanks again!

I have one of the cheap ones available on ebay - Digital PH Meter Tester Water LCD Monitor Aquarium Pen in Moisture & pH Meters | eBay

I've been using it for three months now - and its worked pretty well.

I purchased some calibrating solution from my local hydro store (PH 4 and PH 7) - and I've not found it to be out by more than a decimal point or two on two week calibration periods.

I grow in soil - and have found this to be adequate for the small amounts of water I've been using - if I was growing in hydro, I think I'd go for a higher end model - but so far this has suited my needs quite well.

I've been using a Hanna Combo for over 3 years with no issues. Besides pH it also reads TDS and PPM. PPM can be very handy to test your base water and for monitoring the strength of your nutrient solutions.

Hey muddy.
Could I ask for the model number on that?

It's model HI 98129. Usually about $130. Whatever you get, make sure to also get calibration, cleaning and storage solutions. Most use glass bulbs and keeping them clean and not letting them dry out is important to their accuracy and for long life.
