Ok so I wasn't sure where to post this question. I had a white widow that I recently chopped down. This was following a previous grow with the same strain so I already know how it smokes and smells after dry and cure. Problem I encountered is during grow nothing seemed different other than it got stunted, the smell the look were identical, it was sticky and stinky, the last couple of days however it did get over 95 deg in the room and I did let it grow longer than the last grow (90 days) yet I still didn't see many amber trichs. After the chop I dried it and preceded to jar it for cure, since then I have tried it numerous times and it doesn't get me high at all, also it isn't sticky to the touch any longer. Last grow it stayed sticky forever (the 4 weeks I had it) and the CC is still sticky today yet it was chopped a week before the WW, bout a month and a half ago.

So what could have happened for it to not be sticky, not smell near as good as it should even after curing for a couple weeks and why would there be almost no affect even after smoking 3 bowls ?

Thank you for any advice and or input

Two separate seeds, same brand. Nothing seemed different really till I chopped and started to dry.

Only thing I can think of is you let it go to long waiting for ambers.Did you get amber try's from your previous grow? If you wait to long before harvesting the try's will start to degrade and lose there thc this is possibly what happened.

Hey Namvet, I didn't get amber last grow, however I was under the impression 1) that I chopped her early since I had started flushing before I got my loupe to see trichs 2) I had to wait to see amber (up to the % I want for the affect I desire) before chopping and that every plant gets amber- not sure if this is accurate or not. I chopped last grow at day 80 and it wasn't much of a couch lock high (non of it has been so far ??) I chopped this one on day 90. The smell isn't the same either when I pop the jar.. It smelled good till chop and seemed sticky as hell too.. Grr

Not all autos get amber try's.What seed bank did they come from?WW was one of my first strains I grew and I wasn;t impressed that much with it.You might want to check our thread on the strongest autos and try one of those your next grow.My favorite strains so far are critical jack and bubble gum.

the white widow from vision seeds im smoking right now was chopped at 68 days and 2 hits and u feel like someone just torched ur face.i think its the most potent weed I have ever smoked and a lot of people round here would agree.white widow is 60% sativa, shouldnt get to much of a couch lock.from mine anyways.i think you took her to long.that sucks.sorry bro

hey Free'- Sorry to hear the buds went south on you,... a couple things come to mind about why,... that roasting can really do a number on the terpenes and cannabinoids, evaporating and destroying them, and since it happened in the last couple days (right?), the plant had no time to regenerate them; combined with the late harvest, the THC seems to have severely degraded... nothing off about the drying/curing process?.... could be also, that it was just an inferior bean,... in fact, I have a few runts right now that are looking suspect for this very thing-- they are way off the mark for what the strains are well known for,...

From personal experience, as my first grow of photos I let go too long and it was a crop of hay basically.

Not all autos amber, I'll reiterate that. Personally what I do, with both autos and photos, is when the calyxes swell and the sticky and aroma are peaked. That's usually all the same time. That's when I chop. But that's me. I don't like amber. I'm a THC lover. When its all milky. Also remember when you chop the potency will increase. So it doesn't hurt to clip a few nuggs and try it before you chop. I still do that with new strains I haven't grown. Take from the top area where the buds are more mature. That's the best way to tell if its ready imo...

Also all WW are not created equally... I have yet to find THE widow... Very possible that brand/seed bank is not very good... There are definitely brands I avoid like the plague. Best of luck with your future grows friend. Sorry that happened.
