hi afn, i wanted to know if there is anything you can do to lower the humidity in your grow room other than buying a dehumidifier as i dont have the space for one! if anyone has any ideas i would like to hear, thanks guys :toke:
:peace:

70cm x 60cm and 2m in height i have a fan in the grow room with a 4" rhino filter and 4" rvk exhaust fan with passive intake

Well, I don't have a lot of experience myself in dehumidifying a grow room (haven't had any problems yet with mine; knock on wood!), but I do have plenty of experience dehumidifying my laundry room where my dryer is not vented! What worked for me was AIRFLOW AIRFLOW AIRFLOW. In the case of this particular room (a HUGE room mind you), I bought a 20" high velocity metal framed floor fan (I love Lasko fans myself), you know the kind, you turn them on high and anything not nailed down to the floor or wall blows away. Set it on the floor in the middle of the room, pointed it at an open window, and in less than 24 hours my basement, normally a sauna after a few loads of laundry, was the coolest/driest feeling room in the house.

I did a quick search on Google on how to lower the humidity; I saw guys used huge bags of rice (like you'd use to fix a cell phone that got wet), silica packets, etc etc. Seems like a lot of work and huju when you could probably fix it by improving your airflow. In fact that's the other side of what I found in my search; seems most people recommended simply improving your air flow inside the tent. More fans (or higher CFM ratings on pre-existing), better placement of fans, etc.

But that's just my two cents; I'm pretty new to growing and someone else might have something that's more effective for both cost and efficiency.

Vaporhaizer is right air intake will sort the problem. Until you get an intake fan you can dehumidify by putting a half full bowl of salt in the grow room (make sure it doesn't blow around) by the next day it will be a bowl of salty water as it has sucked the moisture out of the air

cool thanks for the tip i will give it a try as my humidity has been over and around 50%

50% Rh is fine but if you do want lower it buy a few disposable de-humidifiers they worked for me quite well

funny you say that i just ordered a pack of three from amazon hopefully they bring it down a bit, i was just thinking about nearer the end of my grow and when im drying it out

I'm with SoH, if the RH outside the grow space is less, turn the air in the tent over more. I am fortunate, it's dry winter season now. Avg. RH is like 28-30%, I turned up my fan.
