Today is day 17. Strain is Chem Dog from auto seeds. This is my first grow. It is in sool, I took Emeral Mountain by Root Organics and cut in25% pearlite and verm. That's like 10-15% each. I started them in root shooter plugs, transplanted those as soon as they popped thru to a 5 gal air pot. I do believe I overwatered the first time, but I have not watered in a week, and the soil is at least half dry. The pots weigh ~11 lbs.

My issue is this; they started fine, but after about day 6 they completely stopped growing. 2 of my 6 plants are droopy which happen to be the two pots that weight the most, so I think the medium was too wet hence the drooping. But, plants are nice and green, most look healthy they just have exhibited zero growth. Did my soil burn/stunt them? Did overwatering stunt them? Are they developing rooot systems and are just about to exploded? I have no clue, but it's discouraging that these beautiful ladies refuse to grow.

I have more beans on their way, I think I'm going to throw these all out and start over :( Please share your thoughts and I'll answer any question about other aspects of my grow. ✌️

i will help...
;)
What type lighting are they getting first, looks like not that powerful??
next, the baby leaf thats yellowing is caused by high acid in soil, to wet, usually makes that happen...
Soil mixes are key, go with even less of the verm, and perilite ok,,,do not feed anything for a week and half to 2,
you can lift them out and check the roots gently but dig deep!
again the light power helps seedling get going faster, dries soils, and gives more energy over all....
your lights?

I run a 600w MH cool tube 16 inches above them. I did have them under a t5 the first 10 days before switching to my main light. Temp at plant level stays about 77f.

Could my light really be too far at just 16" ??

WOW,,thats good!

WELL,now we are talking soil, lights got plenty power....
When a seedling stunts, usually they will have a slow go, some will grow out of it, other still stay small?
OR food, have you fed the babies anything in that first week?

Sometimes it takes a while for the roots to bottom out before the plant does anything. What's you're rH?

Nothing wrong with your seedlings. They are very slow at this point until some roots develope and can feed the seedling and at this point will start growing faster and this is a common thing for everyone.

I have not fed anything yet, nowhere close to having enough balls for that. The soil is plenty warm, you guys don't think that has anything to do with it? I have also seen a few gnats, but nothing more than a few. Humidity stays between 30-50.

I REALLY want to think they're just rooting but man, how the heck can these things make fruit at being what they are 17 days in to a 65 day grow?

Don't worry they will be fine and every grower goes thru the same thing. You can give a lite veg feed after she has at least three sets of new leaves and then she will take off so just hang in there.

Leave out the vermiculite alltogether. It holds too much water and you usually run into problems. Perilite is great because it holds no extra water yet lightens up your soil.:pass:
