Lighting Mh/Hps bulb question

I was running the Apollo Horticulture Hps bulb the first time.. And thinking about purchasing a few more for next time both HPS and MH.. Anyone have any experience with this brand? They're pretty well priced and work well imo. Should I check out some other stuff or stick to em?

I haven't used Apollo myself but I've seen their ballasts and reflectors and I know some people use them on here with good results. Apollo lights also get VERY good reviews on consumer websites if you've done any digging on them.

I personally use iPower branded equipment (lights/ballasts/cool tubes,) they seem to be very similar in make and build (I've looked at the Apollo and iPower ballasts and I almost wonder if they aren't made by the same manufacturer and not just rebranded (you see this a lot with growing gear; I have several timers that are all different brands but the same make and model #.))

If it were ME personally; I'd say you're probably pretty safe with them. Also, you said the magic words.

They're pretty well priced and work well imo.

They are well priced. Cost effective is not the same as cheap in my book. These are cost effective. You've stated the bulbs worked well for you; if it's not broke, dont' fix it. I have SEVERAL spare iPower bulbs; and aside from one burning out due to power outages (power company was working on some lines,) I've actually had the same bulbs running for nearly 2 years and I'm on my 5th grow. But the proof's in the pudding, friend. You've already got experience with a brand you're asking questions about; if you know they work for you, you dont' need someone here telling you they don't.

Now, if you want to EXPERIMENT and expand out and have the money; why not try one of the enhanced spectrum bulbs like Muddy's talking about? I would say it has a far better chance of doing good than harm; you'll just have to decide for yourself if the initial investment is worth the reward.

That's just my "My 2 cents" Best of luck with your consumer decisions! :smokebuds:

Does it really make a difference to use a MH bulb on auto's,since there veg time is only 2 to 3 weeks any way.
