Great report Stylez. Mi5 is still one of my favorites and always in my grow rotation.

Regarding the pH of Pro Mix, it's considered semi soil less and seems to work best with a bit lower pH, 6.2 - 6.4.

its just that i read all this threads (some different forums as well)
basically a 50/50 between: 5.8-6.3 // 6.3-6.8.

but i will be using soil ph as well (when i get the chance to get some promix)

Don't want to get side tracked here with a pH discussion, so I'll be quick. People used to equate Pro Mix to Coco and recommended hydro pH range. I talked to the mfg., Premier Horticulture about this. They consider it semi soil less and recommended the 6.2 - 6.4 range. While we didn't specifically talk about growing MJ, their rep knew where I was coming from and recommend that range. My own tests have born that out.

Thanks a lot Muddy. No worries on getting side track, bud. The info you have is welcomed anytime. I have heard a lot of folks say that coco, they treat as hydro. When it comes to ph

Just curious that you described the effects with the following: "very mellow and relaxful buzz. Definitely a evening type of smoke. I went to work after I smoked a bowl, and after an hour I just wanted to go sit on my couch to chill"
Of all the autos I've grown mi5 is my over all favorite, however the effects I've experienced are very different from yours. For me it works in the opposite, i e. makes me active, motivated and far from mellow. Actually it was a perfect combination with my university studies, whether during lectures or when writing essays! Maybe it differs from user to user (I'm quite a restless and active person anyways) or the pheno (but I've grown a few of them). Otherwise taste and smell was just as you described. Although I appreciate these effects, I'm sometimes in need of something more relaxing for my insomnia that even the strongest kush can't cure! Hash is good for that, but good quality hash is hard to find where I'm at and what's available us usually mixed out with something else - in the best case henna, in the worst case soap, motor oil or even car tires!! God damn the pusher man!

Howdy qirsh. Your right, probably the pheno. There appears to be a sativa dominant one lurking. Reported on seedfinder. And I know Stich has a secret cross in the MI-5 giving the purple/berry touch to some phenos.

Sounds like your a Steppenwolf fan too. :clap:

Thanks for the info Alan! Maybe I was lucky enough then to lock that sativa pheno into the further crossings I made from the regular seed pack I bought! And yes, some of my mi5's had some purple hues in the buds, but even those without had the effects I described above. In general I prefer sativas over indicas. Noticed that its hard to over use them as the case is with indicas or hash - I can just keep on smoking and smoking without feeling satisfied - try that with a good sativa and your head will suffer a meltdown due to hyper mental activity. In other words sativas forces you to stop when you've had enough. Some people aren't smart enough to get that though and end up hating those strains instead!

Well, as far as Steppenwolf is concerned I didn't acquire more than the Easy Rider soundtrack, but its good enough!
