So there is a leafy video on youtube of some guy making dry ice hash in a jacks puck press. When he tear the bar in half, I'm like oh my god I want that. I'd bought a rosen pre press mold of amazon & tried to use a car jack under my heavy work bench. It really didnt work so well. So I found this BP machine website & some video's pressing bread flower. I emailed the dude asking if there were any videos of it actually pressing trichomes. He replied back in a timely manor that there weren't really any like that,, and he answered as few more questions. Based on his open communication, I took a chance and bought his 2" round 4-ton press.
I heated the base up in my airfryer to 215 for 5min and loaded her up with some twisted tree mystery dry ice hash. Cranked her down & jumped on a conference call for about 20 minutes. Here are the end results.
Yummy looking but to my limited hash knowledge, it didn't look pressed enough.
Next I tried some with out heating the mold.
this was lighter in color and looks more like the stuff my rosen press and work bench made. Not quite what I was looking for either.
Last up, i heated it to 225 for 5 minutes, put the press on the floor & cranked as hard as I could, set timer for 5 minutes.
Getting better! Was hoping it would still be darker, but had the gooey goodness when I cracked the puck & smell wonderful.
Overall I am happy with press. I'll have to play with temp & time to hopefully get it where I want it. Who knows, maybe the 4 ton isn't strong enough to press it well enough, and an 8 or 12 ton would be better? Dunno, but I'll keep trying!!
