So I start counting when seeds crack the dirt and put out cotyledons. I use the toilet appear method with 100 germ rate with heat mat and two plates so I know the seeds click starts ticking a few days earlier , But for my seeds this is the end of week one . As you can see and this is a great lesson, you’ll notice the one runt. Now this is what can happen when you water your seedlings with too much force and the water uproots they tap root. Not as important in photo period but look at the setback the small one has to overcome to catch up.
a great way to prevent this is see the picture of my hand cupped around the plant. Spray your hand and the water runs down to the soil gently. Move your cupped hand around and spray your ha d to fully get a good water around seeding. See
These are under a T5 and are not in the tent.. From some leaf edge curl I’m a noticing the Roots may be a little hot, but nothing I’m worried. I’d add perlite next time .Roots original has a great earthy taste. So next update will show the seedlings at the end of week two in the tent under a 3500k budget LED 480 watt 4 panel LED light with deep red spec. I usually use HID but I’m trying to replicate a non perfect grow .In breeding tents are essential for separating males and pollen collection so I have a 5x5 I’m setting up in an upstairsroom in the middle of summer . A 1000 watt air cooled HPS would bee too much since the ambient temp is hot anyways ,
So as most everyone here does I’m going LED to lower tent temp , but I’m not doing perfect conditions as I could. I’m showing my genetics tolerance to heat and humidity well below 50%.
I want the grower who doesn’t have ideal conditions from light leaks to heat to dry climate to be able to toss my seeds in a pot no matter what and get a plant that tastes like a skunks asshole after eating blueberries !
I’ll update all conditions right now it goes from 62 at our night to 89 during our day with humidity 16-30%. I’m in the Rocky Mountains high desert . Extreme shifts in temp, and dry,
Very happy where we are at the end of day.
I have an interesting photo period list to say the least and two autos: BTW If anyone wants to take a look.

You’ll notice my hand cupped around one of the pants
