Indoor My first real grow

I am beginning with 19 auto flowers in 1 gallon buckets. I have 10 white Cheese,5 cheese both from DinaFem and 4 freebies.
I have 2 6x6 tents and 3 virtual sun air cooled 1000 watt lights.
I am running A/C directly into tent and filtering my air out with a 8" Carbon Filter and 8" inline fan. Also have dehumidifier in tent.
I hope to keep the tent at 76* and 45% humidity.
All 19 are going in tent one to begin with when room is needed I will move into tent 2.

So my first question is should I put 1 or 2 of the 1000 watt HPS lights in a 6x6 tent and how does this set up sound to you?

Your set up sounds fantastic man welcome to the site. I would run the 2000w unless you have heat issues. The more light the better IMO :smokebuds:

wow sounds like a mad first grow but good luck and as above if heat isnt an issue run 2000w the more lumens the better mate

To get good results you need a minimum of 50 watts per square foot, so 2,000 watts would be needed, giving you about 55 watts per square foot.

Ok next one....since I am running a/c in the tents this summer, should I just vent lights with small fan inside the 8"hood opening just blowing cool air through them or run a/c directly through light hoods? Any suggestions?


Btw....I wasn't aware that my set up was good but I can say I only paid 2,200. for all my gear. virtual sun hydroponics site is a honest site. All delivered in 10 days. Great light kit deals.
2,200 got me 3 aircooled 100 wts and 3 mag. ballasts. 2 6x6 tents and 2 8"carbon filters.
I didn't know if I would need it all but the price is so low...why not.lol

sounds like a amazing project ...and a great deal basically 2 for the price of 1 lol .....does it say exactly how much energy both the lights pull ......seem like it be a shit ton ........

I seen the white cheese seeds the other day .....they look yummy as all the cheese strains do ....I rather love cheese lol

Ok, my tent is set up. I only set up 1 of my 6x6 tents. I hung two of my 1000wt Hps lights but have them so they can slide back and forth. I hung my 8" Carbon filter in the center/top of tent and my 8" inline fan. I have my dehumidifier inside tent and a/c vented into the tent. I have a fan in each of my hoods but just to move air I am not venting the heat of the lights out except for the heat that goes out through my filter.
I am starting out with just one of my lights for 4 weeks and then plan to slide it over and turn both on for last 5-8 weeks.
I have 19- 5 gallon buckets with Promix soil. I have watered the soil and am letting it sit a week to check PH b4 planting my seeds. I also want a trial week or two just to controll the temp with the moist soil inside.

So any suggestions? Thoughts?

FS. you will need a bigger cab if your gunna run 3000w !! are they mixed spectrum bulbs ?? you only have 1.8 sqr ft per plant you need 4 at the min to get good light in on hps/mh. The light dosant penetrate like led. and only 18-20% of that light is usable to the chlorophyl a and b............you have enough room for nine plants max. To many in to small a floor space is counterproductive to yield. you would yield more from 9 than 19 guaranteed. Yopu will need a fantronix temperature controled 5' fan for this to keep temps in the range on auto temp set . the dogs they are fantronix. external vent the fan so room temps dont back up. it will quite quick with 2000w !! do not exceed operating temps on light envelopes !! you dont need fire allarms in cab with these and 78% cheaper to run, for you thats alot of dow saved....................http://www.quantumledbloom.co.uk/servlet/StoreFront..................looks like you spent good money in the wrong places recalibrate...........speak to the guy at quantum he will give you a good deal...........and calibrate your set up for you ok................

I think you are going to have some heat issues running it that way. I would suggest you draw through your filter, then your hoods, then out. Those 1000 watters are going to put out a lot of heat and you're going to need to get it out of the tent. I would also run both lights the whole grow. For high yields it's critical that you get your plants as big as possible during their first 5-6 weeks.

IMO, 5 gallon pots are overkill for most autos. 3 gallon are usually big enough and would allow you to put a few more plants in there. Pro Mix is usually pretty consistent with a pH of 6.8 - 7 right out of the bag. I add 1 tablespoon of garden sulfur per gallon of mix and it brings the pH down to 6.4.
