First off, I am a first time grower and have been going through multiple threads and websites regarding soil grow for cannabis and I have no access to any brand as normally recommended by growers is out of the question (I am from South East Asia).

I tried using a local potting soil mix (peat moss, perlite, coco fibre, matured compost, organic fertilizer as per the description on the package) and the result has been less than optimal (stunted growth/nutes issue)

I'm thinking to start my next grow (Auto Pink Grapefruit from Short Stuff Seeds) and was wondering if the soil medium below will work for its entire life cycle? (provided that i work out the correct soil ph of course). I might start it off in a seedling soil mix (consisting of blonde peat with humus) which seems to work during my seedling growth stage before transplanting it to its final 3 gallon pot.

Soil composition
3 parts peat moss
3 parts compost (maybe I can replace this with wormcastings instead?)
2 parts perlite, pre-wet
1 part vermiculite, pre-wet

I'm not trying to obtain maximum yield out of the grow or anything and I could just like to complete my first grow for starters.

And also I'll be growing it indoors (window sill grow in my room) supplemented by a SANSI 24W Full Spectrum LED Grow Light

Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks

I am new to cultivating but not gardening. so far have been trying a mix of 45% coir - 45% compost - 10% vermiculite and it ok but holds moisture really long in veg. I would prefer it dry out faster so I can feed it compost tea more often. So next time I will try 50% coir - 30% compost - 20% vermiculite. I prefer vermiculite over perlite. I think 30% might be enough compost for everyday nutes but I worry about soil microbes at that point si it may have to go higher.

@Janxster Look in the Organic growing forum --- Hecno's on going organics . . you will find me there
