One other alternative that is similar, trim the big top fan leaves like you would when you take a clone (cut each finger of the leaf in half, or more...). It leaves the leaf intact, but removes some of the blocking of the light. Just a thought, and if she has no problem, you can always remove the entire leaf after she starts to grow some more. I cut some top fans as recommended. Looks pretty good now.

Wanted to keep things symmetrical so I cut off two fans and had a look and decided to remove two more. So total of 4. I think I should have done this about 4 days ago, but lesson learned. The lower growth is now exposed and I think its going to be great. In a week I won't even remember this. On the second one I only removed 2 fans. Hoping the shorty complex will fade a bit as these start to stretch.

Plant 1 - 4 top fans removed.
Top and side views. From the side you can really tell she was amputated what with the big heavy fan leaves now just at the bottom and the top is a bit sparse. But I think I'll not even notice in a few days.

Plant 2 - 2 top fans removed
This one is crazy tight. Lots of bud sites but they are so close together right now. Its so tight I want to spray it with some lube. I will be tending her daily for sure. I can't even find the symmetry in in the leaves because its all compacted right now. Hopefully she loosens up her tight ass a bit. And I have lots of air circulation in the tent which helps.

Pop in on my grow for more details but i have 2 going now. On topped and lst other left alone. Both were short so i started pulling it to side to let lowers have light. Then topped a week later.

The real bushy one go through each branch and take off the leaf that is more towards the inside of the plant blocking the inners. You’ll keep noticing more bud sites getting uncovered. My white crack grew exactly like that if I hadn’t removed a shot load of leaves she never would’ve turned out how she did. Just rings of colas and nice too buds. Start at the top and work your way down. When they have that many leaves they never seem to mind a big leaf removal. They have plenty left to act as solar panels. If the lower branches are branching like crazy off themselves clip the lower two off each lower branch or you’ll get too much going on and possible mold because not enough airflow. They can be painsin the asses but they will produce a lot of bud for u. Just gotta give her a hair cut lol.

Thanks for showing that. Next time I see this happening I'll have to start bending the stem a bit earlier on like you did. I was trying to leave all of them natural this grow just to see how what the structure is like, and then next grow make changes. That's a philosophy that someone suggested to me so thats what I did. And you know its legit because next time I'll do it different. But last grow I had nice results by just putting a bend in the main stem gradually.

Also if you leave the fans it kinda works as lst because lowers will come out flat and extend in preflower and make some nice little colas when you remove fans after preflower. I'll get some good pics in a bit of untopped girl.
