Hey all, first timer here. I'm wanna go simple. I have a small spot indoors where I plan on doing 2 autos at a time. I'm going to put them straight into 5 gallon pots. I'm going use use pro mix or a similar soil. What nutes do I need. I'm trying to do as little mutes as I can, so can I just grow in the soil with no nutes? If I can't what should I buy? I've read there is enough nutes in the soil for the veg or first couples of weeks but then what nutes do I need for the flowering ? And do I mix the nutes in a gallon of water and just water them as they need it? Or do I give the whole gallon every time I water? Again I'm just trying to keep it simple. Thanks everyone.

We could use some more details.

What sort of lighting do you have?
How large is the space?

5 gallons is kinda big for a 2 foot tall plant.
I like 3 gallons, and you can use smaller.
We had one guy show off using a 12oz soda can.

I have ordered a roughly 3 gallon Air Pot for my next grow.

Now, dirt.

You can use potting soil and add nutes.
You can also get potting soil made for growing pot.
One trick is to make the soil for the flowering stage,
and then make a big dent and put a couple quarts of
unfertilised potting soil in it to start it gently.

Brands vary from one place to the next. So you tell us what is
available where you are.

I prefer to mix nutes into soil.
Having said that, I have used a liquid bloom nute for both of the 2 grows I've done.
Next time I am trying a locally made compost called lobster compost.

Even if you do that, there are times when you might want to add epsom salts or a tea and/or molasses
to the watering.

if u want simple. try M3 soil its ready to go right out of the bag, just add water."Michigan" Medical Marijuana Mix, shit is organic to. also if u wanted to use nutrients with it u can, but u dont need to! how is that for simple?¿?
:dance:oh yeah, good luck n vibes on ur new grow good sir.

Hey Big 8, welcome to the site! Plants need to eat just like any other living thing, so just trying to squeak by doesn't quite work out most of the time. If you're willing to invest some labor up front True Living Organics may be for you. After mixing up the soil and letting it "cook" (settle and microbes multiply) over a few weeks all you have to do is plant and water with dechlorinated water. Here's a link to the TLO super soil thread, enjoy!

whats up bud! Welcome to AFN, I hope that we see a journal of your first indoor grow. You should post it in the new growers forum and as you have problems, moderaters will try to guide you in the right direction.

PLEASE do not take me the wrong way. I am trying to be helpful and I would very much enjoy seeing you here in three months with a great harvest! You have some major questions. I suggest that you read, read and read some more.

Hey guys thanks a lot more the knowledge. I've been doing a lot of ready and a lot of watching videos and the whole nute and watering are the only thing people don't really show. My space is 5hx3Lx2d. It's an old tall stressor that I did to make it a little stealth. A lot of people are saying go from the paper towels right into the soil so I wanna get the right shit you know. I know I'm going to make a couple mistakes but I just want to try to limit them. As far as mixing my own, I'm not to confident in myself doing that.lol.but maybe some day after I can get the nutes and watering down. I'm sure ill know when the plant needs water but do I mix a gallon together with nutes and just give the plant as much water as it needs. Or is it bad to leave the nutes mixed like that for how ever long it would be till next watering? And is right to not give nutes for first 2-3 weeks then give the flower nutes when it starts to flower? I'm saying it and it seems simple but it's not.

That M3 soil. Can it be bought online. I'm on the upper east coast. Can u go to like Home Depot or a nursery?

don´t worry about the nutes right now... a quick lesson...

don´t over water. it takes days to recover from over watering, only 30 min to recover from lack of water. don´t forget that

water your soil before you move the seed from the towel to the soil, not after!

Make sure you PH your water. 6.3-6.4 is a good start.

don´t worry about nutes for at least a couple weeks.

I strongly suggest that you make a new thread in the new growers section and start a grow journal.

Honestly I found mixing up a soil to be much easier than measuring out nutes, checking for ph and watering accordingly every feeding. If you can bake a cake you can mix soil.

As for some of your questions, no you cannot save a nute solution. You have to mix them new every time.

we honestly can't give you accurate generalized advice on feeding amounts/schedule/ect without knowing the specific details of your grow. What soil, how big of a pot, what strain of cannabis, TEMPS/RH/PH? What ph tester do you use? What specific grow light are you using, ect ect....

that link mrpiggy gave you to the TLO/Super Soils is awesome.
