Old Reviews Negative Ion Generator vs. DIY ONA Gel Bucket.

Hey all.
So firstly, let me say that I do have a carbon filter and I'm relying on that for when my baby starts getting stinky.
So this is a theoretical exercise and I'd appreciate the wisdom of veteran growers who've actually done this before.
I'm wondering what would be better, a small negative ion generator (the type that plugs into a power outlet) or a DIY ona gel bucket in the style of this : http://www.420magazine.com/forums/do-yourself/110496-diy-odor-control-bucket.html
But using a small plastic flowerpot and a PC fan instead (due to my much smaller grow.).

What would get rid of telltale odours better?

Personally i used ona on my first grow and the smell just doesn't mix well with my living area. I just buy a bunch of the glade wall plugs. But u shouldnt have any smell with the carbon filter as long as there is proper negative pressure and air flow in your tents. I assume the ion generators are very nice too

Oh yeah, I know, I think my carbon filter will do fine, this is more since I'd like to have a backup in case it failed for whatever reason.
