Grow Mediums Net pot size???

Does the size of the net pot have to be a minimum size for a plant? Like should it be a minimum of 4" or 6" or do I need a 10"? Looking at making my DWC out of a big tote and maybe putting 3 pots in it. 2 for plants and one for testing and re-filling. Thanks in advance!

I guess there is a balance the bigger the net pot the more stability the plant will have initially
6" works well for a decent sized plant ive found

Hey FT all I use is 4" net pots in the 18gal tote it leaves more material on the lid for strength. campo is right about stability though, but that shouldn't be a problem with autos.

Part 2 of the question. How far to you guys like to keep the level of the water in comparison to the bottom of the net pot???

for me its water touching bottom of net cup until roots are 2"-3" into the water, then i leave a 1"-2" space from bottom of net pot to water.

sorry for the late reply I try to stay as kiss as possible... I just use GH Flora 3 part as per directions on bottle and maybe GH cal/mag if needed but don't usually don't need it. I really don't do much more then that for feeding. hopefully some others will reply as well.
