Lighting New DIY led grow over on the new member's forum

Very interesting build! It's cool that you can adjust the colour temperature as required by switching out bulbs.
Are these 9w bulbs? If so that's about 270w full powered, which should perform admirably in that space.

Nope, they are 15 watt labelled but the two panels pull 510 watts from the wall according to my meter. With all the lights on, they are seriously bright. Total cost was roughly $0.50/watt for the actual power (I had the wire and aluminum plates sitting around already). The LEDs may not be quite as efficient as some of the dedicated grow lights in terms of parr watts, but I am betting that the raw watts and more or less balanced spectrum should do ok. We shall see. So far, the girls seem keen to try them out.
